2001 Preview
MSC Class of 2001
The home of the few, the proud, The Lewis S. Mills Soccer Club otherwise known as the MSC. This team has been home to some fine talent over the years and is a perennial contender for the Berkshire League title. The 1997 Class M State Champs highlited the great seasons the team has had. The 5 time defending league champs are coming off a 14-1-1 season and a run in the state tournament that saw them losing 1-0 in the finals to an impressive Avon team. After losing 8 starting seniors the remaining players which include starters Paul Donato, Kyle Burby, and Tony Distasio along with Kyle Hallenbeck, Jay Boucher, Derrick Heredia, Dave Arcari, and Jim Goetter are hungry to prove to the league that they are not to be overlooked and though it is a rebuilding year they can still be a contender for the title. Mills has brought many new faces onto the scene like Goalkeeper: Steve Levandowski; Defenders: Mark Klocko, Joe Capitani, and Eric Grabowski; Midfielders: Brooks Morrison, Mike Molnar, and freshman Ian Lindsey; and Forward: Joe Pelosi. All of these new members are eager to leave their mark not only on the team, but on the league. Mills is projected to be a .500 team, but with a little effort, a lot of communication and cohesion, as well as heart and balls the team can do much better than that. Led by senior captains Paul Donato and Kyle Hallenbeck the MSC class of 2001 should have a strong team structure and sense of desire to aquire what is wanted, which in this case is a 6th consecutive Berkshire League title. The Team will field a lineup as follows:
Steve Levandowski
Paul Donato
Joe Capitani Kyle Hallenbeck Jim Goetter
Jay Boucher Derrick Heredia Dave Arcari Ian Lindsey
Kyle Burby Tony Distasio
